Going to school right now can be a challenge. With Story Pirates' new virtual after school programming, kids can reconnect with their own creativity and imagination, driving a new kind of fun and learning you won't get anywhere else. With our incredible teaching artists bringing activities to life, hosts from our podcast stopping by, and lots of special guests and other surprises, there will be tons of excitement kicking off this October! Our goals are for kids to have fun stretching their imaginations, developing the tools to create stories, art, songs and other projects, and their time with us will be focused on trying out new skills and having the freedom to experiment with different ideas.

How it Works:

Each day of the week has a different theme, with new topics cycling in each month. In addition, there are two different structures of Story Pirates After School outlined below. When signing up, families can select one, or more than one, day of the week to participate in After School for all four weeks in October.

Story Pirates After School consists of two different structures:

SPTV (available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays): Not just another screen to veg out in front of, SPTV is part TV show, part workshop, all Story Pirate wackiness. This livestream includes interactive elements to get kids engaged, and features our actors, improvisors, singers and illustrators, hosts from the the Story Pirates Podcast, and exciting special guests, including Random House Children’s Books authors. Kids interact with SPTV hosts through the chat and live polls, and on occasion, audience volunteers may even appear on screen! Only one registration is required per family for SPTV sessions.

Clubhouses (available any day): Get to know a small group of kids and two talented Story Pirates teaching artists by signing up for a Clubhouse, a live zoom session where groups of kids (roughly 15 at a time) work together on fun projects based around the theme of the class. Each child must be registered separately for clubhouses.

Scroll down to learn about the different themes. Then, select a day or days to register for. If selecting a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, you will have the option of adding a Clubhouse in addition to the SPTV registration. If you select a Tuesday or Thursday, you will be registering for a Clubhouse only.
