Thank you so much for all of your support during the 2015 - 2016 school year! We had a blast coming to every school, performing arts center, and ship (we're looking at you, Intrepid) that we visited.

To all of our authors and every kid who wrote a story: we loved reading all 20,000 stories we received. Keep writing!

Story Pirates at the World Science Festival, 5/31/15

The World Science Festival is asking kids to write original stories, from their imaginations, inspired by real science... and the Story Pirates will perform a select few on Sunday, May 31 at the Street Fair, open to the public, in Washington Square Park!

Story Pirates week in review 3/13/15

Happy Friday the 13th!

It was a busy week on the Pirate Ship, with 13 shows and 30 workshops happening in schools across New York City and Los Angeles. 

Did you know that Story Pirates not only works with kids in classroom workshops and after school programs, but with families as well? Story Pirates has developed a series of Family Engagement Workshops, designed to give parents and children fun learning enrichment activities to do together at school, as well as providing follow-up activities to do at home, which further reinforce academic skills in an engaging way.

Story Pirates week in review 3/6/15

We're thrilled to announce that Story Pirates will be returning to Solid Sound, Wilco's arts and music festival, this summer! Check out the press release on Broadway World for more info, and get your tickets today!

In this video, Story Pirates perform the world premiere of "The Last Name Book" written by three Southern Boulevard School first graders. We had a great time at Southern Boulevard School, and a big thanks to the SBS PTO for sharing this video!

We had a great time at the annual LitWorld Word Read Aloud Day. We even got to meet a celebrity!

Thanks to Texas A&M for hosting two wonderful Story Pirates performances for area schools. We loved our visit to the Lone Star State!

Finally, here's a picture by awesome Story Pirates performer Woody Fu that he drew of one of his characters from Stony Brook Elementary in Pennington, New Jersey!

Story Pirates week in review 2/27/15

Story Pirates hit the road this week for a four day tour to Colorado, visiting two schools and performing a show at the PACE Center. 

In the past week Story Love volunteers have written 243 positive comments on stories from elementary school students!

Join us for our next NYC AfterDark this Saturday evening at the brand new QED Theater in Astoria!

Story Pirates week in review 2/6/15

Thanks to everyone who braved the winter weather and joined us for our Story Love night on 2/3 at the Drama Book Shop! We wrote positive feedback on 89 stories! With help from our amazing volunteers we've "loved" over a thousand stories by NYC elementary school students this year! Our next event is Tuesday, February 10th - see you there!

Story Pirates week in review 1/30/15

Story Pirates has been all over the news this week:

We visited the Smith Center in Las Vegas and were featured, along with an awesome student author, in an 8 News Now segment! You can track the antics of our Las Vegas tour crew all over Instagram. Everyone had a blast!

On January 16th we visited Timber Point Elementary in East Islip, NY. Check out the great pictures they posted from the show!

We're a Parent Pick for Best Valentine’s Day Events for Los Angeles Families! Our 2/14 show at the Geffen Playhouse is on sale now.

We loved meeting a bunch of new folks at the Palace Theater in Stamford, CT and the Boulton Center on Long Island this past weekend. We hope to see you again soon!

Story Pirates week in review 1/23/15

In the past week, Story Pirates has performed at six schools, hosted one Story Love event with awesome volunteers, and kicked off tours to three states! 

We visited schools in Fort Greene, Brooklyn; Oceanport, NJ; Florham Park, NJ; Absecon, NJ; Glen Rock, NJ; and Los Angeles, CA.

Casts set out this week on tours to Colorado, Wyoming, and New Jersey.

Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to the Drama Book Shop on Wednesday evening to help with Story Love!
