The Story Pirates are back with season 3! With the help of their new friend Nimene and her extraterrestrial companion Loofah, the Pirates prepare to head into outer space. Featuring two new stories: “The Bear That Couldn’t Disco,” a synth pop tune about a bear who just wants to boogie down, written by a 7 year old from Rhode Island named Taylor, and “The Slowest Elevator in the World,” a story about a truly extreme test of patience, written by Sam, an 8 year old from California.

Original Stories

The Bear That Couldn’t Disco (feat. Alex Brightman)

Taylor, age 7, Rhode Island

Once, there was a bear named Brenton, that couldn't disco. Every other bear could. Brenton was sad because he loved watching his friends do all of the cool moves that Brenton wanted to do. Brenton was so sad he ran away from home. He ran far into the forest. Brenton got tired and laid on a rock.
He looked at the full moon and said "I wish I could disco." The moon sparkled and Brenton went home.
When Brenton got home his mother said "tonight is the disco contest." He was going to try and disco at the contest.
He tried to disco. He could disco!
Everyone said he was awesome at discoing. They gave him the first place trophy. Brenton was very happy then everybody tried to disco like Brenton. And they tried and succeeded.

The End.

Our adaptation of “The Bear Who Couldn’t Disco” was written and produced by Eric Gersen with vocal arrangement by Eric Gersen and Jack Mitchell. Additional production by Brendan O’Grady and vocal direction by Jack Mitchell.

The Slowest Elevator in the World

Sam, age 8, California

"Come on, let's go to art class. We'll just press the button on this elevator. So, what are you excited about?" said the mom.

"I really want this elevator to hurry up," said the kid.

Thirty minutes later.....

"Come on, Mom, why isn't this elevator working?"

Three years later...

"Mom, I've had three birthdays and now I'm ten and the art class only goes up to ten year olds."

"No, let's just wait a little longer," said Mom.

100 years later...

Finally, the elevator opens.  They get to the art class.
"Sorry guys, this is for ten years ago and below"

"But we paid for it!"

"Sorry, but you paid for it 103 years ago"

The End
