Everyone (including Corny) spells it a little off. Then it come to me. I do my best not to start chasing the mouse around. I close my eyes and spell T-H-E-S-A-U-R-U-S. I don’t get over excited, but what I do do is focus on the audeience which always helps me. When it is my turn I close my eyes and think good thoughts. A-C-K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-M-E-N-T-S. “And again, Piper wins,” says Gabby. I cannot believe it, but I am ready for the next word.

“Introduction.” Oh. Oh! Oh! I love to write intros in my books. I wait patiently and my my mind goes to the fat wiener dog in the audience. Before I know it it’s my turn!! I close my eyes and… I-N-T-R-O-D-U-C-T-I-O-N. Gabby says, “Piper is our winner, congrats Piper.”

I never thought this would happen. I was laughing. I thought I was going to faint. He was eating and eating until he stopped. Then he had to get a drink Maybe he said I will never eat a worm again. It was like the worms were having a party. And a party is fun. I love parties but I would not like to have a worm party in his tummy. That would be silly. The worms we’re having a blast at the party in his tummy they were jiggling and juggling until they Ate and ate cake until they fainted. If I was the principal I will never eat a worm. Backstage Dream

Thuy, age 10, New York

This is Dara Starfield. She is a new helper behind the stage of Grindoll Studios. She wants to be an actor, but she was always second best next to Juno Wolfcollar, who was always stealing her spot as the bad guy when she auditions (not purposefully!) She knows her best shot is behind the stage, where things like what’s about to happen happens.

“Dara, come help me find the rest of the costumes!”

“Coming, Joe!”

“Dara, come help me with the lights!”

“Just a minute, Luna!”

Yep, things were pretty busy at Grindoll Studios (c), especially on opening night. As Juno got ready to play her part, Dara marveled once again at how calmly she did it. Dara wished she could play Hera in The Story of Apollo & Artemis.

One hour later, the crowd clapped loudly. It was time for the intermission. As Juno came out from the stage, her high heel snagged one of the wires. Juno tripped and fell. “Juno, are you ok?!” “Should I get an ice pack?”

“I’m mostly fine... but twisted my ankle!” Juno announced. “Someone needs to replace me!”

“I’ll do it!” Dara said. “I know this play like the back of my hand!”

“We don’t need *that much* drama” said Luna.

“No guys, I’m serious, I auditioned, remember?”

A chorus of “ohs” and “rights” followed.

“Whatever, I can do this.”

Another hour later, there was more clapping. Dara came from behind the stage.

“You were wonderful!” cried Juno. “I’ve got an idea. How about we work together! I’ll do the first part of the intermission, and yo do the other.”

“Great idea!”

Cucumbers 4 Life

Imogen, age 9, The UK

Once upon a time, there was an ice-cream van and it played a nice tune every day, even on cold days!

But one day, the ice-cream man drank pickle juice and turned into a cucumber and only sold cucumber sticks!

Meanwhile, in Munch Town, Imogen heard the news and was overjoyed!

She raced over to Do-Dip Street (population 3), because of the cucumber!!!!!

Then she heard it….

BOOM BOOM BOOM!

She felt sorry for the Cucumber man because he had no customers, so Imogen built a cucumber truck that ran on pickled juice and was made of cucumber, but she made two so she could eat one. It looked like a giant cucumber! A big cucumber! And it played hard rock and death metal. Its name was…

Cucumbers

4

Life

And only Imogen lived happily ever after.

The end!

The Family of Cows

Lydian, age 8, Mississippi

Once upon a time there lived a family of chickens. There lived a rooster (Robert) and a hen (Emily).

It was a sunny day in Louisiana. Emily had a lot of eggs. Robert said, “I should tell all those weird creatures with no feathers or wings or beaks that you have so many eggs. Robert pecked on the wall of the coop. The farmer came into their house, the coop. He shooed Emily off her nest.

“Why in the heck wood ya shoo me of ma own nest?!” squawked Emily.

The farmer saw four eggs laying in the nest. He reached in for an egg. Robert angrily pecked at the farmer. The farmer fell. Just then there was a crrrrraaaack. The farmer jumped up with anger.

“That’s what ya get for stealin’ an egg from me!” Emily said.

The farmer looked into the nest. There was a cracked eggshell and a baby chick next to it! Robert peeked in and saw the chick. He immediately said that his name was Bo. Then the farmer grabbed the other three eggs and ran for his life.

5 days later

Bo woke up late that day. “Why do those featherless beasts take all ma eggs?” – asked Emily.

Just then in walked a witch with short hair and a bucket on her head. She whirled her wand 5 times and out of the chickens came out three cows.

Emily said: “Ma udder is hurtin’.”

Robert mooed at the witch. The witch took the bucket off her head, and squeezed the milk into it. “Moo-aha-ha-ha-haaaa!” thundered the witch who turned out to be the farmer. The farmer took off running, but Robert took off running after him, rammed him on his back, and bucked him off.

“But why does he steal ma’ milk all the time?” Emily asked.

And they all lived happily ever after.

The Raccoon’s Very Hard Choice/Stepping Up

Rolo embarks on a spacewalk in a desperate attempt to retrieve a package from the space post office. Featuring two new stories: “The Raccoon’s Very Hard Choice,” a Latin-inspired song about choosing your favorite food, by Asa, a 7 year old from New York, and “Stepping Up,” the inspiring tale of a senator’s quest to become President of the United States, by a 10 year old from New York named Eliana.

Original Stories

The Raccoon’s Very Hard Choice

Asa, age 7, New York

There was a raccoon, and he loved eating garbage. He was very curious of what was in the house, so that night he climbed up the stairs to the door. “The door is locked” he said. So he walked up the stairs and he noticed the sliding door was unlocked so he walked right in the back door that could slide open and shut. He said, “It’s nice in here!” He saw the refrigerator and smelled something that he’d never smelled before. So, he slowly opened the door and what do you think he saw? Fruits and vegetables, that’s what he saw. “What do those good-smelling foods taste like?” and he ate a strawberry and he loved it, so one minute later he’d eaten four whole containers of them. Two hours later he’d eaten everything in the refrigerator! But then he realized that he also had another favorite food, trash! “What should be my favorite one. And if I choose one I don’t want it to be the wrong choice.” Well most raccoons are smart but this one was very, very smart. He thought about vegetables are good for your body and eating trash helps make not so much trash in the world so then he thought about which one is bigger. The world is bigger than the raccoon! So, to keep him alive you need fruits and vegetables and to keep animals safe anywhere, ALL the raccoons need to eat trash. And ALL raccoons need to eat a STEADY diet of trash and fruits and vegetables. When he got back to his home, he told his friends who told their parents and they let them eat that from now on. And that’s just what they did. The next night the raccoon set off to a new house (he had a hard time sleeping because in the morning, which is when all raccoons are sleeping, the humans were all screaming because they had nothing in their refrigerator, so he was half asleep half awake) he went straight to the back door and it was unlocked. He walked right in, but in this refrigerator it had junk food. The raccoon didn’t stand a chance. He scrambled right out of there. And went to a new house. And he went to the back door and ate everything in their refrigerator and then he left. Then he set off the next night and went close to a new house. He sniffed for good food like fruits and vegetables. He smelled a lot of vegetables and fruits. Then he forgot about going through the back door and instead he went in the front door. After that he noticed that the front door was open. So he realized it doesn’t have to go through the back door and he can try both doors. So he went inside and for two hours he ate. Two days later he found a trash can. He broke little holes in the garbage can with his claws and he climbed up, opened the top and cannon-balled in. And he ate for one hour because the sun was rising. No one really cared because no one really pays attention to garbage. In the future, he will eat trash and fruits and vegetables. And that is the raccoon that made the very hard choice, which was both.

Stepping Up

Eliana, age 10, New York

It is the year 2023, on November the sixteenth. Everyone who wants to run for president is announcing it now, before it becomes too late.

On this day, in Chicago, a woman named Sienna Parker has just turned thirty-five. It is her lifelong dream to become President of the United States. She is a current senator of Illinois. This means that she is eligible to run for president. She pulls out her phone and makes an announcement on Twitter: “Heads up, everyone! Sienna Parker is running for president!”

It is the following year, 2024. Sienna has been called from her quiet house into big, bustling Washington D.C. She has been asked to make a few-minute speech about what she would do for her country as president. “You need to know what you’re going to do, and how you’re going to do it,” the caller had said.

Sienna is all set up, and about to begin her speech. She knows what she is going to do, and has memorized it. She begins with a resounding voice. “As president, I want to give equality to everyone in my country. I believe males and females are equal, and men should treat women equally, unlike the far past.” Everyone seems mesmerized, so Sienna continues her speech, talking about everything she wants to do.  At the end, Sienna has never heard a louder applause.

She listens to the other candidates’ speeches. A few days later, people went to vote for the two candidates to run in the main election. Sienna can’t believe when one of the candidates is her!

Her opponent is named Bryan Smith. Sienna does not think that his ideas are good. In fact, his only idea is to keep America the same! BO-RING! Trying to beat Bryan, she writes books and makes even more speeches.

Finally, it is time for the main election results. At 8 pm, Sienna clicks on the TV and pops a piece of popcorn in her mouth. “Parker wins California, Texas, and New York.” the announcer on TV says. Sienna has won the other 37 biggest-voting states, too! Bryan has only won the ten smallest states. “And the President of the United States is…” Sienna leans forward eagerly. “SIENNA PARKER!” Sienna jumps off the couch and cheers really, REALLY loudly. The floor is completely littered in popcorn.

The crew’s exploration of outer space takes them to Game Show Planet, where a charismatic host (Paul F. Tompkins) challenges the Story Pirates to compete. Featuring two new spooky stories: ‘Boo!,” a tale of trick-or-treating hygiene by Nora, a 7-year-old from Florida, and “The Clock,” a creepy story about a timepiece with a dreadful secret, written by an 8-year-old from Washington named Lyla.

Original Stories

Boo!

Nora, age 7, Florida

Once upon a time, there was a brother and a sister named Sarah and Max. They were trick-or-treating because it was Halloween. They soon came upon the worst house they hated. It was the house that gives you toothpaste instead of candy. Their mother forced them to go in. They went in the house. It was a mansion. They soon came to the section that gave you toothpaste. They pushed the door open. Guess what they saw! They saw a ghost with shining teeth. It said, Boo! The children ran off to home. The ghost followed them to their home. The children looked back, but did not see the ghost. Then they kept on running. Just so you know, the ghost is nice. He just wants you to have clean teeth. Then he zoomed in front of the children and said, give me your toothbrush and toothpaste! You need some clean teeth, your breath is gross! The children were surprised that the ghost could talk. They gave him their toothbrush and toothpaste and he brushed their teeth (he made sure it wasn’t bubblegum flavored because he hates that flavor and he assumed the kids would too) and they finally had yummy breath. The end

The Clock

Lyla, age 8, Washington

Lyla is blind and, rather than have to write the story in braille, submitted her story as an audio file! Listen here:

Space Llama/Have You Wondered (feat. Lauren Lapkus)

A space caterer (Lauren Lapkus) helps the Story Pirates learn to like strange foods from other galaxies. Featuring two new stories: “Space Llama,” a Bowie-esque spin on a classic folk tale about how the night sky came to be, written by Lindsay, an 8-year-old from New York, and “Have You Wondered,” a story about what happens when the Statue of Liberty fights crime, written by a 7-year-old from Ohio named Theodore.

Original Stories

Space Llama

Lindsay, age 8, New York

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, when there were no humans, there was no night either. All the animals would get sick and it would be very sad for their families. One day, a llama named Space Llama decided that he would fullfill his name and build a rocket. When it was done he didn't know what it was for, but then he had an idea... He took a bag and filled it with black yarn and some knitting needles. And he took his rocket up to space. He knitted for a very long time and he never finished. Every night he would fly up and put that blanket he knitted over the sky to make night. The hole that he left is the moon. And holes grew in it over the years. Those are the stars. So, every day, right before night look for a llama in a spaceship with a big black blanket.

Our adaptation of “Space Llama” was written by Austin Sanders and produced by Marcus Bagala

Have You Wondered

Theodore, age 7, Ohio

Have you wondered what the Statue of Liberty does when no one is watching? Well…

Yesterday night in New York City, two evil men robbed one thousand million dollars from a bank. They thought no one was watching as they escaped on a boat, but the Statue of Liberty was. She knew she had to help, but she couldn’t move because two tourists on the Brooklyn Bridge were looking at her.

She waited until they looked way and then dropped her tablet into the bay, creating a tin tsunami that crashed over the robbers’ boat. The robbers flew up into the air and down into the jail and the money flew back to the bank where it belongs. The Statue of Liberty picked up her tablet, and then she did a superhero pose, and went back to normal—just in time for the tourists to look at her again.

Having successfully exited the Earth’s atmosphere, the Story Pirates are greeted by the captain of the Intergalactic Space Friends Alliance (Jeremy Sisto) who comes bearing unique gifts. Featuring two new stories: “Glowy and the Friend Adventure,” a laid-back beach ditty about a whale who needs a friend, written by two brothers from California named Clive and Silas, ages 9 and 7, and “The Big Chance,” the story of a girl who must endure a high stakes test in order to reach her dream of becoming a doctor, written by Isabella, a 10-year-old from Maryland.

Original Stories

Glowy and the Friend Adventure

Clive, age 9 and Silas, age 7, California

Once there was a whale named Glowy. He lived in a luxury cave mansion. He was always happy eating krill pot roasts and playing his Fish Station 4 on his TV. One day Glowy was cleaning his ginormous bathtub when he suddenly felt too small in his mansion. He walked through every room but he felt something was missing. “A friend! That’s what I need! A friend to share my mansion with me,” He said to himself. He quickly ate his krill flakes and swam out of the double doors. Soon he found a sea urchin on a rock. “Would you like to be my friend?” Asked Glowy. “Eek!” Said the sea urchin. He was scared of Glowy’s size. “Oh well,” thought Glowy, and he swam away. Then he found a fish. “Will you be my friend?” Asked Glowy. “Eek!” said the fish. He was afraid of Glowy’s booming voice. “This is harder than I thought,” said Glowy. Now he was swimming toward arctic waters. Then he found a narwhal. “Can you be my friend?” Asked Glowy. “Sure” said the narwhal and they lived happily ever after.

“We have worked so hard!” Said peter. “Ya!, I think I Speak for all of us, when I say, we can’t wait to become doctors, people need  to start listening to us, we have knowledge too!” I yelled with happiness. People stared at me like I was crazy but everyone else who I was about to become doctors thought I was the person who will change the world in the industry of doctors, and will find more information about the anatomy of the human body. But then the big bad wolf (AKA) Dr.Phillip Michelle Miguelito Choliotez, he has a very VERY long name I hate him! But back to the story. “Well, well, well looky here we have Never doctor Lotus, Never Doctor Menchilo,  and Never Ever Doctor Luigi. BUT I can’t forget Dr. Rubin or should I say Dr. Isabella Wella-Umbrella, YOU will never ever become a doctor EVER! Bye-bye never ever doctors-noctors. HAHA!” Said Dr. Phillip Michelle Miguelito Choliotez. “Whoa, he going to ruin our chance to become our dream, A DOCTOR! I thought

Well, here it is. Our “Big Chance” to become a doctor, Well our test a-waits. “Dr. Isabella Rubin it is your turn for your test! “I was so nervous! I couldn’t talk, how can I answer questions” I thought.

“No, I can’t do this”

“What if I don’t pass”

“Dr. Phillip Michelle Miguelito Choliotez is right I can’t do it”

“I am a loser” I thought.

“NO, I am not a loser”

“I will pass”

“I can do this”

“I am NOT nervous”

“I am invincible!”

That was all I thought for 2 mins. “Isabella, Isabella, ISABELLA!” Said the Test Guy. Oh I was so nervous, but I was trying to stay strong! “Maybe I am thinking to hard” I thought. “Okay Isabella it is time to take you test, first part of your test is the paper portion.

How much does the human skeleton weigh?

The human body weighs as much as a car tyre. ——————————————————

———————————————————————————————————————————————

———————————————————————————————————————————————

More information

The human skeleton is only half ,sometimes not even a half of the weight in the human body.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Someone hurt their arm, it is not sanificlay bruised. It hurts the child a lot if you touch it, if she moves it, and if any weight touches it. What should you do?

You ask what happened touch both arms to see if they feel the same and where it hurts the most. Then get a x-ray. If it is broken then put a cast on it or if it needs surgery then put a temporary cast on. If it is just a fracture then put a cast or a brace. If it is a sprain then put a brace on it. If it is a twist put either ice or a brace on it, if it is a bruise then put ice or a brace on it.

“Um Mr. Test Man I finished my paper portion of the test.” I said. “Okay, I’ll come get it and check it, if you get one question wrong then that would be 2 points off!” Said the test Man. “Mmm, uh-ha-uh-ha. Okay you got 0 questions wrong which means you get 12 points!” Said the test Man in misery.  “Yay!” I thought ( I didn’t really scream, in my head I screamed). “Next is the….. P.P.O.T.A.O.T.H.B. Or the Paper Portion of the Anatomy of the Human Body.” Said the test man. “Here is your paper” said the test man.

You probably don’t want to see this test, it is like the other one, but different. So I am NOT going to show this test.

A FEW MOMENTS LATER…..

So that was a weird test. The test man said something about a test on fake patients?! LOL it sounded so weird when he said it! Anyways…Back to the story!

“Follow me, Isabella, and we will see how you do out this window, that looks like a black board. OH! But you can write on the whiteboard, just keep that in mind and we will be watching you, always watching your tests….” said the Test Man.

“Okay let’s see here… Mmm on this list it appears to say that Jackteo-po is my first patient Okay ummm, here Jackteo-po. Hi, I am Dr.Isabella, I will be helping you through out the time you will be here! Now I believe your name is Jackteo-po, now what is the reason why you come, and how did you hurt your arm?” I asked. “I came because I hurt my arm, by playing on a zipline in a place I do not remember what the place is called” Said Jackteo-po in Misery. “ Mmmm, okay. Can I feel your arm?” I said. “Sure, you can feel them I hope you can’t feel my misery of pain…” Wailed Jackteo-po.

I started feeling his back, because it is hurt I carefully touched it, I felt a lot of bumps and things that shouldn’t be their, so I decide to take him to a X-ray and a MRI scan. As I looked at his MRI scan and and his X-ray, I find that he shattered his arm and has ripped a ligament! So I scheduled a emergency appointment for today right now.

We are in the operating room and we just put him under an anesthetic and we just started his surgery.

2 hours later…..

He is finished with his surgery! He should wake up soon! Never mind he just woke up! I asked him “how you are feeling” Jackteo-po said “fine” I got his parents in and he is ready to go home!

Suddenly I hear clapping and cheering and I look at the board and a light turns on, I can see the test guy and he walks over to me and says “Good job” “you passed your test!” “Wow” I was amazed! They gave me a doctor suit and a surgeons clothing too! Then they gave me my License to be a Doctor/surgeon! I can’t believe it!

The Story Pirates are back with season 3! With the help of their new friend Nimene and her extraterrestrial companion Loofah, the Pirates prepare to head into outer space. Featuring two new stories: “The Bear That Couldn’t Disco,” a synth pop tune about a bear who just wants to boogie down, written by a 7 year old from Rhode Island named Taylor, and “The Slowest Elevator in the World,” a story about a truly extreme test of patience, written by Sam, an 8 year old from California.

Original Stories

The Bear That Couldn’t Disco (feat. Alex Brightman)

Taylor, age 7, Rhode Island

Once, there was a bear named Brenton, that couldn't disco. Every other bear could. Brenton was sad because he loved watching his friends do all of the cool moves that Brenton wanted to do. Brenton was so sad he ran away from home. He ran far into the forest. Brenton got tired and laid on a rock.
He looked at the full moon and said "I wish I could disco." The moon sparkled and Brenton went home.
When Brenton got home his mother said "tonight is the disco contest." He was going to try and disco at the contest.
He tried to disco. He could disco!
Everyone said he was awesome at discoing. They gave him the first place trophy. Brenton was very happy then everybody tried to disco like Brenton. And they tried and succeeded.

The End.

Our adaptation of “The Bear Who Couldn’t Disco” was written and produced by Eric Gersen with vocal arrangement by Eric Gersen and Jack Mitchell. Additional production by Brendan O’Grady and vocal direction by Jack Mitchell.

The Slowest Elevator in the World

Sam, age 8, California

"Come on, let's go to art class. We'll just press the button on this elevator. So, what are you excited about?" said the mom.

"I really want this elevator to hurry up," said the kid.

Thirty minutes later.....

"Come on, Mom, why isn't this elevator working?"

Three years later...

"Mom, I've had three birthdays and now I'm ten and the art class only goes up to ten year olds."

"No, let's just wait a little longer," said Mom.

100 years later...

Finally, the elevator opens.  They get to the art class.
"Sorry guys, this is for ten years ago and below"

"But we paid for it!"

"Sorry, but you paid for it 103 years ago"

The End
