Secrets of the Paintings

by Eloy, age 7, New Mexico

Secrets of the PaintingsSetting: An art gallery, a long hall with lots of pictures on the walls with fancy frames. Every night all the paintings come to life. One of the pictures is the Monalisa. She is so tired of smiling and not smiling all day long for the gallery visitors. One night she suggest to all the other paintings in the galley they they should have a meeting to discuss how it feels to not be alive. They all take vote on whether to have meeting or not. All the paintings of famous bluegrass players say "yes", and all the soldiers from the Civil War also say "yes", including their horses. However George Washington and his army say "no". The rocks stars say "yes" because they want to show off their music. And the "yes" votes win. After the meeting was over, Monalisa suggests that they should all show off their talents to the museum visitors. In the morning the rockstars start singing their best songs and the Bluegrass players start playing their tunes. The Civil War soldiers show the visitors how to ride horses and Washington's men show everyone how to sail and shoot a musket. And then a bandit comes to the town and he steals the muskets, boats and horses. Washington's men then hunt down the bandit and put him into a painting and place that painting in a jail. The End.
