The Bad Art Werewolf
by Ruba, age 10, New York
Our story begins last Saturday afternoon, when we went to NAGONY or the National Art Gallery Of New York. There was an exhibit near the sculpture garden place that had a buncha robots that looked like humans that were doing trapeze. There were weird fish tanks with no fish in them next to the robots. My dad was with me, and he is an artist who has a picky opinion on art. He did NOT like this art, so he turned into a werewolf. Then he shot a buncha teeth at all the robots and they broke. We got kicked out of the museum ‘cause we broke the exhibit, and we never returned. The End
Our adaptation of Bad Art Werewolf was written and produced by Brendan O'Grady, with vocal direction by Jack Mitchell
The Bear Claw
by Milo and Theo, ages 9 and 7, UK
Once upon a time there was a baker who sold the best bread in the whole wide world. She earned a lot of money selling her bread because it was so good and everyone wanted to buy it. One day a robber stole all of the bread and the ingredients and the equipment! The baker called the police and said, 'Help, help, what will I do?' The police said, 'We'll be there right away,' and they investigated the scene. When they arrived, the floor of the bakery was covered in flour and there were giant bear footprints leading outside. The police followed them all the way up to the top of the volcano-cave, which was a secret cave that only bad guys and monsters could enter. The police were scared because they had heard myths about the cave. So the baker went instead. She went inside the cave and it was cozy and light with big chandeliers everywhere. There was a huge industrial kitchen and inside there were animals having a party and baking bread. The baker joined them and they decided to turn the cave into a local bakery, and they made the best loaves of bread together. They called their bakery The Cakery. The most special pastries that everyone came from miles away to taste were their worldwide, famous, legendary bear claws (with chocolate on top!).
